The absolute worst service I received in my 20+ years of being in New Zealand. Waited around 10 mins to even be greeted by the barista, to which she was quite polite - she kindly asked us to find a table and the waiter will be with us shortly. Pakeha woman came by after 5 minutes to 'clean' the table, or should I say attempted to: one circular motion with a towel that was barely a second. Following that, she proceeded to leave without addressing the table at all - no water, no menus, absolutely zero indication of serving.
After 10 minutes, we decided to get the menu ourselves, seeing as the place seemed relatively busy. At the 20 minutes mark, the waiter continued to ignore us, and only responded after multiple attempts of 'excuse mes'.
At this point, we were a bit annoyed and let the waiter know we had not been even addressed in the almost half hour we had been in the store. The waiter then had the audacity of saying "well how about you go up to the front, we're really busy". wow. Absolutely no words. I have also worked front of house at a busy restaurant before and I understand how busy it can get, but I was shocked by the attitude and condescending tone used by the waitress.
How she got a hospitality job is beyond me, unless some training and management changes, we will not be returning here and will be letting our community know about our experience today.

Read moreI was there a couple of days ago and I was very disappointed. We have ordered couple of cakes and one slice and they tasted horribly stale, like they should have been thrown out a while ago. Kitchen food took forever and you only have a choice of limited items to order from. Food is way overpriced for such quality and long wait time.
The only two good things are staff, and coffee. The gentleman serving us was amazing and helpful, and our coffees were very good, the lady who made them was sweet and makes the best coffee there. We were regulars in this cafe for years since we live just down the road but after the owner changed, the quality and vibe declined significantly. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but it is just getting worse. You can’t even find the coffee regulars card, the staff keep telling me they don’t have any which I don’t blame them for. Read moreThe service was that bad that I had to write this review. From the moment we walked in I could feel it was going to be an average experience. No eye contact from waiting staff. Ordered our breakfast and then had a long wait with minimal other guests present. I ordered an omelette with toasted ciabatta and when it finally turned up the omelette looked average and was luke warm and was missing the ciabatta. I asked the waiter where the ciabatta was and she seemed confused and said she would go and check. At this point there was no cutlery or salt and pepper on our table. We had to ask for that also. The ciabatta arrived but was not toasted nor was there any butter with it. The reason given for it originally being missed was that the chef had forgotten it. I had to ask for it to be properly toasted and when it finally arrived back 10 mins later I had already eaten omelette.
