Local to Point Chevalier, I came to the Cafe at many occasions, and almost every time I didn’t have a nice experience so I finally decided to post a review. Of course the location is ideal and really practical specially with babies/kids but I think the staff/management should improve the service/quality. Food price vs quantity/quality is not great compare to other cafes in the area. half of the team is not welcoming and even sometimes rude, making you feel that you are bothering them. I have carried my stroller up the stairs with my baby inside many times, and for weeks nobody told me there was an easy entrance at the back or proposed to help… one day someone different was working there and finally told me to go at the back. half of the tables are shown as reserved because they don’t want people to sit there even when the cafe is full and they could have more people in. So you have no choice than leave. Not a great strategy for a business owner ?! if you show up at 2.10pm you are told it’s closing at 2.30 while on google map and on the cafe window it is 3pm. So once again you have to leave and find another place.
There is lot of other good options in pt chev, maybe not as close to the park and with not so easy parking but my recommendation is do not bother going there as they clearly are not looking for consumers and go to places where you...
Read moreIt takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but too many times as a paying customer I have been made to feel completely unwelcome here. I am often with my kids, but my kids are polite and respectful, they know how to act in cafes. The two main front of house staff (both men) are surly, and make me feel as though my presence is an inconvenience. Despite two tables being available this morning and the lovely young woman serving me saying one is available (albeit with a time restriction), the grumpy barista came in behind her and basically told me I couldn't take that table, because a group might come in soon needing it (it was 10am, and there were loads of empty reserved tables in the other room). No other cafes act like this! I ended up cancelling my order and walking out, there just always seems to be something with each interaction at this cafe, making me feel unwelcome. I'm done.
A while ago my friend with a new born baby in a front pack ordered her takeaway coffee, and was told to go wait outside, on a rainy day. Just rude, lacking in hospitality skills completely. Never spending my money here again, there are too many other sweet natured cafe operators in the area to put up with being made to feel like this when I'm spending my money. I should say all the female staff and young waiting staff are totally lovely...
Read moreFood ok, not a huge selection of cabinet foods. Owner arrogant and very rude. Doesn't make for a pleasant atmosphere. I needed to edit because of remarks made by owner. I also take reviews very seriously because I know they can affect someone's livelihood. On ONE occasion over two years ago I complained about something I had purchased. He took exception to this and we had a disagreement. Since then on every occasion I have been to cafe owner has been disagreeable. My last visit trouble occurred when we tried to change tables. The birds were very annoying and a table inside was vacated. We went to move there, but were told we could not use that table, but another one. I queried that because the other table had a reserved sign on it. That was when I was verbally attacked by the owner. On no occasion during this was I rude to him or his staff continually calling him sir. I even got his staff over and asked them if I had been rude. The answer was no. In fact one of his staff kept continually coming up to me and apologizing for the owners behavior. We finished our meal and left. After we had moved table the outside plastic windows were put down and there was no more trouble for anyone sitting outside with the birds. There was no discrimination on my part to him or has staff,...
