Went out with my family from Auckland, thought we’d show them around. Great atmosphere but not very good service. Our orders were screwed multiple times. I waited 30+ minutes before enquiring about my missing meal because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but when I did I was met with a very rude lady who basically said “you didn’t order it that’s why you didn’t get it” what really happened was I asked for a salmon Benedict and they charged me for a bacon Benedict which when delivered I thought was for someone else and kept waiting for my salmon Benedict. Found out that it had been screwed and while the barista was doing her best to explain the situation kindly the other woman was quite rude. I was very upset because I had spent a lot of money (shouted 9 people) just for my meal to get screwed and kept hoping it was on its way. Please note, I was STARVING and had to watch everyone else eat with no meal myself. I was told I’d have to buy another meal when THEY screwed my order. A member of my family was reimbursed ONE dollar for a missing pancake on her meal. I believe if I was an adult the woman would have treated me better as an older member of my family had to go in to remedy the situation. Will never...

Really enjoyed this cafe. The food is fresh and home made with delious flavours. Thank you Chef good meal and staff are lovely. Well worth a visit!!

So went on a return visit today sadly it was none of the things above....actually we got 2 bacon and eggs on toast consisting of 2 toast 3 rashes on bacon and 2 poached eggs it was nice enough then the drinks we ordered came as we finished our meals, I don't believe they were hammered because I saw staff standing around talking while others were asking for there drinks also. Then I went in to get a take away cup and I was completely ignored for a good few minutes. Also the price was terrible I know it was a public holiday however 2 meals, a coffee and an ice chocolate $51 just seemed a bit steep. We live in northland and never noted this place to be expensive before so maybe it was the public holiday charges that pushed up the price. Please don't get offended just take it as constructive criticism to do better which is how...

The idea is good, turning a station into a cafe. But the food here is just not good at all. We've tried the station burger and the mushroom hash stack. The mushroom was ok but the hash was very tasteless, it is like they dont like to flavour anything. The burger was even worst, I don't think they have tried even their own patties. The patties was hard, unflavoured, you cant even taste the beef at all. It gives off this unpleasant aftertaste that lingers in your mouth. The chips is the only ok part. The presentation of the food is ok, but if they want to grow this business to be good. Please work on the taste. Cleanliness is also quite poor, the knife and forks had bits of dried food...

A cute former railway station which has been turned in to a cafe serving the usual suspects. We only ordered a couple of snacks so csnt comment on the food too much but what we did get was tasty and good value. Their iced coffee was pretty perfect. The cafe has a slightly weird make up on the inside, if seems a former railway station doesn't make for a simple cafe conversion but once you find your way to the counter and order there is adequate indoor seating and a tonne of space on the platform. If you're lucky you may even get to see a train come and go as we did.

Only cafe worth stopping at in Kawakawa. Standard fare and drinks available. Visited around 15:00 on a week day and kitchen was closed, only drinks and cabinet foods available. We were only after drinks so not a problem for us. Chocolate cap was delicious and beautifully poured. Partner enjoyed his banana milkshake. Clean toilets, no wifi, and plenty of seating; there are a couple of tables inside and several outside under an awning so would be nice even in the rain. No steps so wheelchair and pram accessible.
