We were pleasantly surprised at what we found at the Railway Tavern. This is an elderly hotel in a growing country town. The rear of the building has been hollowed out and a restaurant inserted. We found a large group of diners from a local church already in attendance. Their banter added to the atmosphere which was relaxed and informal. We sat outside with our wee dog in a lovely fenced outdoor area. We ordered Cheesy Garlic bread for our entree. When it came out it was very generous portions and we took half home. Read moreThis is a great local and very popular among the locals. We had to book a table and it was worth it. The ambience is typical of a small town pub/restaurant. The staff were excellent and very friendly. They kept on top of drink and food orders and were happy to have a yarn when they could afford the time. However, being a Friday night, it was busy. The food was great and there was plenty to choose from on the menu.
