Black & White Coffee Cartel Marshland — Restaurant in Christchurch

I took my bestie for a MRI which was very stressful. Afterwards we wanted coffee and food and went to this store at 2.55pm....note that it closes at 4pm. I would also imagine they have a small time allowance of cleaning after closing? Or at least they should. However there were 2 staff on but only one young blonde girl serving. We placed our order and she said she could microwave it as oven already turned off. Ok. However. No smile and no greeting etc. Brought food etc to table and again..no smile or anything. Also.. i got a chicken filo where at other Black and white cafes normally comes with a wee salad and dressing nicely presented but it came out with nothing. We watched more customers come in and saw this was normal. Then a second lady came out sweeping under unused tables. We left at 3.45pm feeling that we were an inconvenience to them. We may try again however if that is their customer service we will not go back. I work in customer service and would never treat my customers like that....

Saw on the menu that the vege stack offered a vegan option, which I ordered. They read back the order before we paid, and the waitress even said "one vegan vege stack," when saying this back to us. It arrived with halloumi and an egg, so I let them know I ordered the vegan option and that this wasn't right. They looked confused and said they would make a new one, and sorry for the inconvenience. They wanted to check what vegan was, so I explained no animal products (also feel staff should know this if offered on the menu as an option?) It was back within a few minutes which made me think instead of a new plate being made up, the egg and halloumi was just removed. $23 for some mushrooms, capsicum, and some dry hash browns. Wouldn't recommend, nor be returning. Was pretty shocked no refund was offered...

While we are regular coffee drinkers here I think sometimes it could be called Hot and Cold instead of Black and White. Twice in the last week I’ve asked for my scone to be toasted and got a nod of approval each time. Today the coffees got thrown on the table with the words, “two coffees” and then the scones arrived which were like a steamed mess because they were microwaved for so long.
