On the 13/12/2023 at around 10:40pm I had the worst experience from the manager who was named Eloise. Had ordered food with my friend and we sat to eat inside, we briefly went outside to talk to a friend and no longer than 1 minute a staff came in and cleaned out table with our food barely touched. We went inside to speak to staff and explain the situation as we had the receipt and didn’t expect it to be cleaned that quick but we understood. We asked if we could get the items we didn’t eat remade as we had spent a lot and staff were agreeing. To where Eloise (manager on time, mid to early 20’s black hair, on the bigger side) told us we won’t get anything and staff clean it if the tables are unattended. We were calm and explained how we didn’t intend to leave our food behind as our friend was in the waiting area in the drive through. Eloise kept saying “if you want more food you will need to buy more food”. We were starting to get frustrated as she wasn’t listening and just being really rude and patronising towards us. We asked for her name to put a complaint through and she refused the give us a name or even put a complaint. To where another manager grabbed a receipt paper and pen and intended to write our complaint on it. She didn’t even write anything when we explained why we were angry as the service from the manager was the reason for the complaint. We got her name from the other manager writing out...
Read moreGreedy Parking Practices Ruin the Experience - Avoid This Location!
I am incredibly disappointed with the McDonald's Marivale branch in Christchurch and will never be returning.
My issue isn't with the food or the staff, but with the predatory and greedy parking system they have chosen to enforce. This location uses a "smart compliance" parking company that functions less as a security measure and more as a revenue-generating trap.
Unlike any other McDonald's I've ever visited, this branch will fine you $85 if you stay for more than 2 hours—even if you are a paying customer who has purchased food. The idea that a restaurant, a place meant for dining and sometimes waiting, would punish its customers for staying "too long" is absolutely absurd.
It's clear that this location is not making enough money from actually selling food, so they have resorted to shaking down their own customers with outrageous fines. It creates a hostile and unwelcoming environment where you feel like you're being timed, not served.
This practice is a blatant money grab and shows a complete disregard for customer loyalty and satisfaction. I am done with this branch and will be taking my business to any of the other, more customer-friendly McDonald's locations in Christchurch.
Save yourself the stress and the potential $85 fine. Avoid this branch...
Read moreI can see why I'm not a Macdonalds fan.I had a meeting to attend near here, so I popped in for a coffee and something to eat as a few years back it used to be a buzzing place. They used to have muffins and other assortments of food and descent coffee in real cups, but it's all gone, and now a big empty space. The ordering system is confusing, putting what you order in a machine and paying..... Well, it wouldn't accept my card, so I went up to the counter only to be told in a very blunt manner that I should use the machine. I tried to explain, but it fell on deaf ears. Young people have no manners or respect these days. Eventually, I got my burger, which consisted of a soggy bun with the tiniest "bit" (for want of a better word in it) of bacon and other fillings. Not at all tasty and hardly a snack, let alone a meal as advertised. Shame on you Macdonalds on what you serve up as food (I should have taken a pic). It was in the lunch hour when I and 2 friends were there but the place had very few diners .. a good indication of what others think of the menu!! ... Next time I'm looking for somewhere, it won't be a...
