NomNom Kitchen - Strowan — Restaurant in Christchurch

This is an excellent place for lunch. I haven't tried it for an evening meal. The food is a mixture of asian styles. Everything I have tried so far was delicious. The meals are artfully presented on very distinctive plates. There is no "padding" of rice or noodles (unless you ordered a fried rice dish), the serving is purely the meal you ordered, and you can separately get a side of rice if you wish (which is so light and fluffy, not sure how they do that). The prices are surprisingly reasonable. A standard lunchtime main is similar or cheaper than other popular fast food take aways. NomNom Kitchen is a place which screams magical! The food is absolute heavenly and we thoroughly enjoyed every mouth watering plate we had in this cosy and inviting establishment. All their dishes were packed with punchy herby flavours and it was hard to pick a winner as every dish was crafted to divine perfection. Their Vietnamese noodle salad and lemongrass stir fry were standout dishes and the fragrance of each dish continues to float in my mind. We also complemented our meal with a delicious Vietnamese coffee which was the perfect touch to end a lovely experience. We went back to Nomnoms as the previous meal we had there 6mths ago was delicious. Last night, we ordered a curry and beef ginger dish. Both were uneadible. The curry was not a curry and tasted as though it had been thickened with corn starch and the chicken was definitely not fresh fried. The ginger beef was the same very bland and no ginger infused through it. We thought something was odd when both dishes literally came out within 2mins of ordering which should not be the case for good Asian food. Coudos to the restaurant for not charging us and tried to rectify but even the fried rice they bought...
