Highly recommend the Molesworth Tour

Recently we did a Tag-Along Molesworth tour - we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Lee couldn't have been more helpful with our planning and changed the start and finish locations, to suit our needs. Very accommodating! Chris our guide was great, knowledgeable while reasonably laid back. Chris fitted in quickly with our group banter. The tour itself was amazing - driving through high country roads, station farm tracks to get to the back of stations, and meeting owners of the stations who accompanied us on the drives of their stations. It was really interesting hearing all about their farming practices and lives in the high country. Food was great and plenty of it. Accommodation was good. The only thing we would have liked to have seen was Molesworth Cob Cottage and station buildings at the northern end of Molesworth Station. We were told we would miss them as the tour was changed to fit in with what we wanted. We stopped at the Acheron Cob Cottage and looked though it.

Our minimal expectations were health and safety a priority. There was no assessment of individuals' driving confidence. CB radios were provided but the lead vehicle quickly drove out of range without providing clear instructions. I felt harrassed at times to comply with some quite challenging and potentially dangerous situations. Geoff's anecdotes revolved around local farm ownership and succession/marriages/divorces/scandals etc. Not exactly the history we were interested in. Accommodation with 8 persons sharing 1 bathroom is entirely inappropriate in 2020. Food was ample and beautifully prepared, both by Geoff's wife and at all farmsteads visited. The little resort at Catherine Cove was delightful and we would definitely consider returning independently another time. The short fishing experience with Lindsay was excellent - would have loved a longer time on the water!

Excellent tour , visited many places that we would never see. The scenery was spectacular and Geoff giving a great run down of the history of the areas and a lot of inside knowledge we came away knowing more than we would have by reading any guide book. The accommodation was brilliant and also the meals pack lunches and all. The hospitality at the sheep stations were second to none. I special appreciated Geoff giving me the Ebike after my bike got a flattie. I am now an Ebike convert. Best of all we finished the tour just in time to miss possibly the worst weather to hit the area. Thanks again . We will definitely be looking you up for...
