My friend and I were looking for a decent place to catchup over wine and dinner- this place was perfect! Good atmosphere, great hospitality and tasty food!

The atmosphere is intimate and cozy. It felt like I was going to an Aunts house for dinner. The waiter was so pleasant. He didn’t miss a beat and did everything to ensure my friend and I were well taken care of. His hospitable personality is a big reason why I would go back again.

I got the phallow which is like a pork belly stew. It was super tasty! I loved the richness and depth of the flavours. Only thing I would change is the chunks of black cardamon throughout the dish- Instead I’d find a way make it more evenly spread.

Not at all good service. There was a small boy working alone in the front when we went. Later other staff came but they didn’t even came to take a order unless we looked at them we are holding the menu from 20min and nobody showed up and food service was so slow we almost spent 30min and after that starter came. The food was good but our main meal was taking a long to come so we decided to pay for that and we went to counter. The lady working in the front made a excuse by saying a small boy was in service that’s why it was delayed we understand that that’s why we waited for more than 1 hour for our food. We have eaten at Red Poppie a couple of times and the food has been beautiful, however on the 18/11/20 we phoned an order through. My husband went to collect it & they had got 2 meals wrong, using beef instead of chicken, he had to wait for them to redo the meals. We he got home & the other 2 meals were wrong, the menu said chicken was in oyster sauce, where ours were in sweet & sour he went back & they argued that it was oyster sauce when it was not, he waited while they cooked another two meals, he came home where we discovered the 2 new meals were still in sweet & sour sauce Staff did not listen to us & just said it was a new chef.
