Took my 2 year old to riverlution. Had been recommended it by a friend. My toddler absolutely loved it. I cleared my table and brought everything back to the counter, happy as Larry and the male staff member got angry at me in front of another customer that I’d given him two used wipes (we had not been given serviettes) I was a bit shocked but also had to run off to retrieve my toddler. Fantastic new spot in the red zone! Riverlution, a community-run cafe in the Richmond community garden, just opened today. Great coffee and homemade treats served by friendly local volunteers. The garden setting is peaceful and uplifting - a real oasis in an area still recovering. Loved seeing neighbours come together here. This has to be the best cafe location and community led project in Ōtautahi! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and garden volunteers roaming about. Plenty of green space for dogs and kids, feed the chickens, pick some greens or herbs from the community garden or roam around the fungi farm. Simple menu using the best quality local produce and promoting ethical brands such as Prima coffee roasters, even local art and ceramics for sale.
