The Bombay Brasserie — Restaurant in Christchurch

Outrageously delicious. Imagine the best tasting Indian meal you’ve ever eaten, then know this is better.

Last night in Christchurch tonight for a while and wanted a curry, I’m usually somewhat skeptical about curry in AU and NZ after living in ‘home of the balti’ in Birmingham, UK and It’s with utter luck I stumbled upon this absolute hidden gem.

The only thing that surprised me about this place was the fact it wasn’t packed to the rafters with a waiting list to book.

Every herb and spice perfectly placed and the flavour was to die for, and quite simply the best cheese and garlic naan I have ever eaten.

The owner/front house is well mannered, prompt and very friendly.

Myself and my partner left incredibly full! If I could score more than 5 I would. Highly recommend anyone who hasn’t tried this place.

The food here was absolutely delicious. All of our meals came out quickly, were presented beautifully and our plates were warmed prior to our food being served. The gentleman who waited on us was ever so friendly and genuinely interested in how we were and he made sure we were happy with our meals. We just can't complement this restaurant highly enough. Ordered Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken & Palak Paneer. Butter Chicken was orange & very light in color, and could only taste sweet, and chicken tasted off - no other flavors. Palak Paneer tasted like Jeera and sugar. Naan was the worst I've ever had - rubber and chewy. I'm confident they do not have a Tandoor. Basically just threw Butter Chicken out, and no choice but to eat Rubbery naan and Green dish. Extremely disappointed to eat this on our last night in Christchurch after raving reviews. Should have gone back to Samairaz. I wish I could get refunded or give lower than 1 star. UberEats Order under Vivi.
