Royal Tandoor Indian cuisine — Restaurant in Christchurch

My husband and I ordered via Uber eats here tonight for the first time and the food was bad. Entree was kinda ok but currys were definitely not anything Indian we ate before. They were sweet, my husband had chicken jalfreeze and it had the driest meat ever with hugely chopped onion and pepers like someone couldn't be bothered properly cooking. Sauce tasted worse than canned tomatoes. My chicken madras was a bit better but definitely tasted like half a can of coconut cream. Now we eat heaps of Indian (not making us experts or anything), but we won't be ordering here again and definitely advise to consider an alternative to your choice. Entree mix plater and garlic naan were good, but how much that helps when main dish gets flushed down the toilet. Tonight I ordered butter chicken and my partner ordered cottage cheeses and 3 garlic naans. When we got home we realised we only got 1 naan bread. We went back to get our other 2 naan breads. We didn’t even get a sorry. When I got home we started to eat the food and saw that the chicken wasn’t even cooked, it was still pink in the inside and the sauce had no flavour. So I had to go back down to show the chef that my food wasn’t cooked properly. He was absolutely rude and told me be that’s how he cooks it. So disappointing - have been coming here on and off for years and usually consistent - but tonight was some of the worst Indian food I’ve ever eaten. Jalfrezi chicken (ordered hot, naturally) had almost no flavour and tasted much like a jar of cheap catering sweet and sour sauce - no spices or heat whatsoever, just an insipid sickly artificial aftertaste. Tandoori chicken while usually good seemed like the chicken had been precooked, and marinade only added after cooking rather than being cooked in.
