Mainland Turkish Food Shirley — Restaurant in Christchurch

Walked in this evening (2/4/23) to try and order, only had one guy working and he seemed a bit overwhelmed. Waited for around 10 minutes at the counter to try and order and never got addressed. The guy working seemed to be preparing a lot of Uber orders, and there was other people waiting too. Gave up and went next door and ran into a guy that was in there too, he said I’d done well to go somewhere else as his order was completely wrong (missing sauce, wrong size and was chicken instead of lamb). Also saw while I was in there that he forgot to add two kebabs to an uber order that the driver had already taken. Not normally one to add these reviews but seems as though the issues people were having was mainly due to understaffing having the one guy dealing with cooking/preparing, taking orders in person and online and dealing with the uber drivers. Update May 2024: I recently sampled the newest addition to their menu, the dynamite burger, and I must say, it's absolutely delicious. In my opinion, it surpasses KFC's zinger burger by a mile. The chicken was tender and juicy, the spice level was just right, and the sauces were exceptional. I give it a solid 10/10 rating, Mainland Turkish Food team really nailed it with this one. From now on, this will be my go-to spot whenever I'm craving a zinger burger. Highly recommended!

5 Years old review: I have tried all the well known Kebab shops in Christchurch, and after comparing all I can safely say that kebabs of Mainland Turkish are one of the finest. The chef's made sauces are the best I have ever tried. The salads and ingredient selection is very good. The meat they serve is very tasty. I recently tried Mainland Shirley’s new Dynamite Crispy Chicken Burger, and it was fantastic! The chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly spiced, with a rich sauce that complemented it well. Even the bun was soft and fresh, making each bite enjoyable. In my opinion, it’s way better than the KFC Zinger—a solid 10/10. With crispy, flavorful fries on the side, Mainland Turkish Food has truly nailed this recipe. The service was quick and efficient, and the staff greeted us with a smile.
