Food was tasty, but worst service. Just keep in mind if you didn't like the food or found something in your food, you will be disrespecting the parshad (It is normally consumed by worshippers after worship.) Restaurant manager will tell you this, when you like to complain about food and also will tell you that normally he don't tell people it is a parshad unless someone found something in the food. He will also like to know your name and ethnicity. For me, I entered in restaurant which serves total vegetarian food and where you pay for food as they advertised. No where in restaurant say they serve parshad. Parshad is respectful for me as well and will never disrespect the parshad, if I know it. I am mostly positive about food. This place was not a good idea. Specifically, the food was below average curries if compared to some good restaurants in christchurch. Palak paneer was watery and tasteless. They don’t offer standard soft drinks and had some sub-standard drinks that tasted quite bas. Service was also not good. Had to go after couple of times to remind of things we asked for. Simple things like ice. And waited long time to get food while we were the only ones dining there. From overall experience there is something is definitely not right in the kitchen. Either the real chef’s are not cooking food or they simply don’t know how to cook.

If you want to try sub-continent food. You will surely find most of other restaurants in Christchurch better...

I think they opened their business here about 3 weeks ago. I enjoyed a coffee and scone here last week, so I came in to try a hot lunch today. They have quite an extensive menu. I chose a masala dosa, which is a rice pancake stuffed with curried potatoes and herbs, with a hot vegetable soup and two chutnies on the side. It was absolutely delicious. I then had a generous slice of their excellent home-made chocolate cake and a good strong flat white. It was all very reasonably priced and they were extremely kind and attentive. They do Western style cafe items as well as Indian dishes. They now stay open until 8pm which means that they are like a cafe during the day and a restaurant in the evenings.
