The Berry Shop & Cafe — Restaurant in Christchurch

Went there on a hot sunny day, by the time we drove across town it was actually windy and overcast which was not great but it was still warm. There was a big line of people waiting but it didn't take long to move. Got a Sunday tried the yougurt icecream version . The berries hat come in it are frozen, was bit odd I was expecting fresh berries so didn't really like that they were frozen. The yougurt stuff was ok nothing special, I tried my partners icecream one, it was a little better but nothing great. The berry sauce that it came with was nice. Also I got no cream on mine but think that was an oversight from the staff. Overall for $10 you expect a pretty good Sunday this one was good but...

I'm not sure how to rate this place. My wife really enjoyed her smoothie and I enjoyed about 1/2 my cheesecake, but the more I ate, the more I realised I enjoy cheesecake, but this one was quite bland. And sweet. And huge. Now some might say big is good, but the cheesecake was too much. Smoothie and cheesecake was over $21 with ice cream. The Berry prices were OTT as well, though its near the end of season. Ice cream? Yogurt? Cream? Berries? Here is the place!

I am a berry enthusiast, so I enjoy any place which serves up nice dessert/sweets/snacks of this sorts. This, is one of my top picks around Christchurch.

Made simply with fresh and good quality ingredients, no fuss, with nicely made chill area to enjoy your yummy treats. Personally not a fan of the muffins, but it may just be my own taste.
