Urban Eatery Cashmere — Restaurant in Christchurch

Been here numerous times, however, today's service was appalling. Rude older women with ponytail serving couldn't smile, told us off for our dog barking twice which we disciplined him for. However, there were lots of children making heaps of noise which set our dog off. We have been here numerous times with our dog without any problem. People next to us had very poor service too. Missed the ladies order completely and ended up leaving due to giving her order to someone else. Will think twice about coming back again even though we are regulars! Footnote: my husband's food arrived and mine didn't arrive either so after 3/4 hour went up to counter to get our money back. Would hate to think how much money this cafes lost today due to poor service! Chef yelled that we were told there was an hours wait for the food which we certainly hadn't been told. I've had a few eggs bene in my time at various cafes all over ChCh and the one I had this morning at 8.30am after a pool swim was right up there with one of the best I've ever had. Might cost a few $'s more than some places, but it was a generously portioned serve made with good quality ingredients.....verdict.........delicious. The x2 in-house potato rosti served with the slighly crispy bacon (as requested), x2 runny eggs with baby spinach leaves and hollandaise was great. Asked for hot coffee to be served with the meal and that's exactly how it arrived. Was a peaceful and quiet dining experience at that time of the morning. Disappointed with our visit today and also to read some of the latest reviews which I can only agree with. The attitude and tone of voice I received when I asked for a table to be cleared was certainly not acceptable and I believe this is the same staff member causing the problem. I asked for the table to be cleared as there was a large spill across the table. I would normally return used dishes to counter and use table but this was impossible. To be told "only 3 of us, we're doing our best" and have back turned on me was extremely rude. A sorry, we're shortstaffed would have been acceptable except for the tone of voice.
