PocaPoca — Restaurant in Christchurch

Finally went back to try the omelette (also got the pasta again) and it was SOOOO good! My husband said it's one of the best things he's ever eaten. Calling it an omelette sounds basic and boring, but this was next level. The iced mocha is really well done. This cafe does a very good job of elevating food so that it's tasty and interesting. Apparently, the chef makes everything themselves which is great.

Cute cafe that I wanted to try since seeing it on Instagram as the food looked good. It tasted as good as it looked. The Udon was yummy as and if some are not sure about the raw yolk, then you can ask to be served without it. The Scampi Pasta was cooked perfectly and had enough flavours without being too much. Good portion as well. The Coffle was great, but I think the banana was the highlight for me with the caramelised sugar 🤤 Really lovely staff and the interior is inviting. This place has knocked all my other fav cafes spots out of the park!!! I have sooooo many amazing things to say that I'm having trouble putting words together. Just try it. Matcha latte - omg it's the real stuff! Dark, smooth and deliciously bitter. Coffee - well-balanced, does not disappoint Maze Udon - The most amazingly cooked udon noodles with scrumptious sauce and toppings! Omelette - Party in your mouth. Beautifully cooked egg, flavourful salmon, their richness balanced by pickled onion and cabbage. Chili oil, fried shallots and capers just perfect! We did wait a bit for the food so maybe allow some extra time, especially when it's packed. 😉

This café is an absolute gem! The menu’s got a real point of difference—they’ve nailed this food infusion thing, blending in some Asian flavours that just hit the spot. My family and I tried the Scampi Pasta, Beef Burger, Maze Udon, Salmon Omelet, and Eggs Benedict, and honestly, every bite was a winner. The flavours were spot-on, and I was stoked with how creative everything was.
