I’m not fussy and I understand this is a cafe, not a fancy restaurant, but I still expect good food especially when I order something simple. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast because I had bacon and eggs here once before and the bacon was dry and cheap. This time the hash brown had been deep fried so long it was so crispy, when I pushed my fork into it, it crumbled into crumbs and this included the potato inside. The menu said this meal came with mushrooms and it did- a huge pile of them with zucchini. The problem is they tasted like they were fried on a dry hot plate with zero seasoning. If you are going to fry mushrooms, fry them in a little butter with some seasoning or with a little cream etc. The dry fried mushrooms were bland and boring. That left me with a couple of poached eggs and toast which as you would expect we’re nice. Not a great meal, not well prepared and lacked any sort of flavour or effort from the cook.
