Autobahn Cafe Bombay — Restaurant in Franklin

Not allergy friendly, person taking oders was confrontational and extremely poor customer service. If you have allergies DO NOT eat here.

Visited this evening for dinner. I have an egg allergy, so ordered a warm chicken salad with honey mustard dressing and cashews for $24.50

When the salad arrived my partner asked to double check the dressing as it looked a bit different to usual. They checked and came back to say it did contain egg. They said it was my fault I didn't tell them They told me I would usually be charged for a new meal, but would make an exception.

I asked them to fix their signage, to state it contained honey mustard mayo and she refused. Her answer was "we have always used this dressing". I asked her to put up a sign asked customer to let them know of allergies. She refused and said "everyone has something these days it's their job to tell us.

Second salad arrived and she continued to tell me it was my fault and she brought the dressing bottle out to show me again. This is when I chose to ignore any further discussions.

The "warm" chicken was cold, the "salad" was lettuce and there were no cashews at all.

This place could easily kill people with their sloppy allergy practices. The staff need to learn what customer service actually entails and listen to customer feedback.

This Autobahn is the total opposite of the one in Papakura.... unfortunately in a bad way. I stop here regularly for a coffee which is okay, but the big downfall is the service. Most of the time I wonder if some of the staff care about being there and the customers. This was very evident yesterday when I stopped there. There was one guy in front of me who ordered a coffee, then I did. The girl taking the order then put them up on the coffee machine. Other staff did walk by the machine but not one stopped to make the coffees. Instead they were doing closing up jobs.... and still an hour to go!! Finally after waiting a while and seeing noone coming to machine to make the coffees I had to go up and remind the girl at the till. Then she called one of the other ladies over who gave out the body language of not really wanting to, but came anyway. Eventually we got our coffees. It's not the first time I've experienced this in this Autobahn. They need to learn better customer service skills from thier colleagues in Papakura....

Facilities very clean probably the most enjoyable part of our visit. Service was quite impersonal and almost felt like it was an annoyance that we sat where we did and it was out of their way that they had to turn the lights on in our area where we were. We sat here so we could charge our phone. If you don’t want customers to sit at certain areas because it’s near end of your trading day? Then mark the area off with clear signage. The coffee was over heated and unbearable to drink, and lots of flies. Way too expensive will most likely go to the bakery near the four square next travels. At this current climate where money is scarce for lots of customers with price hikes? Low incomes, If I was the owners I would be taking a hard look at all these reviews and maybe attempt to make changes so that you keep your steady foot traffic coming through and value...
