well, to begin, there was no display of boxing day surcharge to be seen. we only noticed after paying that the prices on the menu didn’t add up to our total sum. i really enjoyed my meal, pouched eggs on 5 grain ciabatta (swapped from normal white ciabatta for free!) however the rest of my family hates their meals. mums lifestyle breakfast bruschetta was a mountain of red onion and edamame slop. the menu didn’t even say the dish included red onion which mum is allergic to, so her and my bother had to swap meals. there wasn’t even any gvisible basil and cashew pesto on the ciabatta. very disappointing as it sounded super yum on the menu. dad got one of the chicken burgers and literally got 10 fries on the side. not a reasonable serving whatsoever, and no sauce. the waitress didn’t give us any cutlery so we had to go back and grab some. had high hopes for this place, but was let down and won’t...
Read moreWARNING We arrived, as a group of 4 just before 10am on a steady Sunday morning. Ordered our food and coffee. Coffee arrived 15 min later (without a smile) after 55 min of no food, we asked when it might be turning up, to be told 2 min. WELL 1 meal arrived - dry over cooked sausages with the most God awful Hollandaise (I know, it's a franchise! But it's bad even by packet standards) 10 mins later another meal arrived, the gluten free bread was more crunchy than a piece of think cardboard and just as tasteless, hey ho. We'll deal. But what we can not deal with is 2 meals NOT TURNING UP AT ALL. After lots of back and forth and a stern lecture on how customer service SHOULD NOT LOOK. we left dissatisfied but with our money back - the one thing they did get right. They simply didn't care, nor offered any explanation other than we could clearly see they were busy. I absolutely will...

The bacon, however, was the letdown. They used cheap bacon, which felt a bit underwhelming, not particularly crispy, and with more chew than flavour. It felt like a cost-saving choice that didn’t quite do justice to the dish. A crispier, smokier streaky bacon would have added much more contrast and richness, especially alongside the sweet banana and syrup.
Service was friendly, and the atmosphere is what you’d expect from a busy café chain ; casual and comfortable. Not a bad experience overall, but for the price, I expected a bit more finesse in the details.
Would I order it again? Maybe… if they switched...
