Apart from the fact they forgot my Dads meal 🫣 on Father's Day and didn't even apologise, the food was rather average here today. I had Grannies famous mince. It was served nearly cold and was supposed to be slightly spiced and slow cooked, but it was completely tasteless and full of big chunks of tomatoes and onion and for $25 with a poached egg on top was very underwhelming. The menu advertised it was served with wafer cut potatoes, but they were just chucks of sautéed potato underneath, nothing special and if you wanted toast to go with it, that was an extra $5 so all up my mince on toast which I could make ten times tastier was $30! It was also supposed to have preserved lemon Hollandaise on top which I thought would be extra tangy and flavoursome, but again lacked any real flavour and was the same as the normal hollandaise which was on my kids eggs bene. The other "big" Dads breakfasts to me looked very small. It said sautéed mushrooms, well it came with a half a portobello mushroom. Was average a few years ago and it's still average in my opinion. The menu sounded really delicious and different but the food didn't live up to the description. Won't be back for more than a coffee...
Read moreFood was tasty enough and service was good, but portions were very stingy. I ordered the avocado, hashbrown and eggs - one small hashbrown and one egg seems rather meagre considering it was $18. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict which was the same price but came with 2 eggs and 2 pieces of toast, AND the avocado that came with my meal. At a loss to explain why my meal cost the same as my wifes but was half the size. Update, we decided to try again due to the generally good reviews. Sadly no better the second time around. I ordered the Turkish breakfast and paid another 5.50 for chorizo for a total of 24.50. Meal arrived, eggs were cold and overcooked. 4 small pieces of chorizo, not properly cooked, one tiny piece of Halloumi, cous cous was dry and bland. Overall flavour wasn't too bad, but again exceedingly average considering the fairly...
Read moreUsually love Jam and come here often, but my partner and I were seriously disappointed by our experience today. The lunch rush had clearly passed, and the cafe was quiet enough that multiple staff were standing around (one sitting), and despite having our table cleared, and being seated for at least 10 minutes, nobody deigned to wipe our table down or take our orders. One waitress in particular was diligently moving from inside to outside, clearing a couple of tables near us outside, who seemed determined not to make eye contact lest she be forced to take our orders. We ended up leaving without ordering anything unfortunately, and when looked back noticed this same waitress had immediately cleared the menus off our table as we left. Guess they wanted to head home! A real shame. We’ll be back and hope for a return to previously...
