Angkor Wat Kiwi Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Hawke's Bay

We ordered french toast with bacon, the lady didnt listen so she gave us just french toast we said we ordered bacon so then she came and asked how many pieces we said 1 each and she walked off then she came back a minute later and said was that 1 each you wanted, after she confirmed she went off and a few minutes later brought us two barely cooked pieces of bacon and said they are $1 each so $2, i went up to pay and she charged me $4!! So lot only did she not listen at all she also charged us for her mistake and over charged us. As for the french toast, bread tasted stale, and couldn’t be called french toast due to lack of egg mix covering on the bread. Iced chocolate tasted okish, and hot chocolate was also ok. Otherwise would not recommend, also bad hospitality the girl did not even smile once. Wont be coming here again...

A disappointing visit. The shop in Waipukurau has better coffee and tastier food, even though the Hastings store has a slightly bigger selection. I will say that the steak pie was pretty good: plenty of meat in it and a good size. The donut didn't taste overly fresh, and the coffee was neither very hot nor that tasty: average. The overall price was good. one of the Asian girls at the checkout had brilliant smile and really lifted the atmosphere. i can't say the same for the two sisters working alongside her: they often looked like they wished they were somewhere else. I would go back for a pie, but probably not anything else. the cutlery and utensils did not look at all...

As a bakery, the pies are great 👌 especially the chicken, cranberry and cream cheese. However as a cafe, their food is not one to be sought after. Went for a big kiwi breakfast (I don't eat eggs so asked to swap for more hash/mushrooms) Came out way faster then expected, and once you start eating it you know why... Mushrooms weren't cooked properly, onion was still quite raw, sausage, hash browns and toast were all mildly headed to the cold side. 1..... Singular slice of tomato 🍅.... And No baked beans or anything to add a bit of sauce or take away the dryness of the entire meal?? Overall very underwhelming and won't be back for a...
