Gloucester House Motels — Hotel in North Island

It was okay. Not a place I would choose to stay at again, and probably wouldn't recommend to any friends.

The location was great, the staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable and the pool was very refreshing. All enough to make it a fine stay. However, the noise level in the room was very disturbing - both from the hot water cylinder making loud hissing noises in the early hours of the morning (was wondering if it served the whole block of rooms) and the sheer noise from other guests. Also, the blinds in the room kept out no light at all - great for the day, not so good when there's a street light...

This is an excellent motel. The hosts are accommodating and welcoming couple (Brian and Fiona). They will attend to your needs straight away without any question asks. Their room is superb: very clean, smells good, and all your needs are within arm reach. Quiet , secured place. The motel are very close to supermarket (Countdown, Pak n Save), KMart and other small shops. Also, walking distance from restaurants. Six minutes drive only to Splash Planet. Gloucester House Motel in Hastings is highly recommended. We will definitely stay again to Gloucester House Motel on our next...

Very well located accommodation - pretty much everything in the city is a not too long walk - all flat as well. The motel was very clean and I really liked the firm mattress, which is way better for the back than the jelly like mattresses found in most places, even at twice the price.||Value wise, probably slightly more expensive than it should be when compared with similar motels in other areas of the country.
