Columbus Coffee — Restaurant in Hawke's Bay

Visited here with family for lunch. They have QR codes on tables to order from but very limited editing options so had to go up anyway to edit order. Partner ordered their big breakfast and added hollindaise for extra $ and was highly unsatisfied. Bacon was dry, mushrooms had no flavor, sausage was "cheap" and hollandaise tasted like mayonnaise. Very mediocre food with a high price tag attached. Spent over $110 here and they couldn't even serve wedges as a side but instead had to order a burger to recieve 10 wedges. I know about pre portioned servings but we wouldn't of minded having to pay $14 for a small bowl of wedges or whatever it would have costed. For a kid friendly place (drawing activity sheets and high chairs) the meal choices are beyond poor. Staff...

Over all i was disappointed with my food. I did not think it was possible to have such an average to awful chef's special blat. The brioche tasted of oil, which I am under the impression they were meant to be golden brown but hadn't been cooked long enough to do this. The avocado was brown and slimy bordering on rotten (I understand they arnt in season but this quality was unacceptable). Now I would of chalked it up to average but the entire dish which would bearly have filled a child with its handful if wedges costing me $18.50. This was made worse by the accompanying caramel flat white which cost $5+, the coffee was burnt and only drinkable due to the caramel. The wait staff were nice and quite busy so I was unable to approach them. Thanks hastings...

not the staff persons fault at all, but we had ordered food, their rewards system is beyond hopeless and didnt redeem the points we had accumulated, or even have our card as registered. we then had to register online only to say it was already registered, then an error message popped up to ring the 0800 number, to then get told we have to email customer services!

AND our order in the meantime was on hold until we paid the part of the order that was meant to be redeemed by points. I had a hungry toddler and baby that got impatient and frustrated because we didnt know it was even on hold until i asked where the order was.
