Having eaten at this restaurant once before, every dish was perfect, which left a good impression on me, so I invited friends to enjoy a Friday dinner. We ordered five dishes, one dessert and four cup of drinks. Everything went well and the food was delicious. Until I had a piece of plastic in my drink which made me unhappy. When I told the waiter about it, she just said "I don't know where this is from" and asked me if I wanted to change it, I said no, then she removed the drink and didn't have any Sorry to the customer. At the checkout, she had a very bad attitude and just said some perfunctory words, saying that the drink will be refunded. She said she would send an email to ask the supplier of the canned drinks and there is NO such plastic anywhere in the restaurant. There is no word of apology. Did it fall from the sky? She seemed to suspect that I had prepared a piece of plastic myself and thrown it into the glass just to ruin my perfect dinner. How ridiculous! There is a clear difference in attitude towards us and other customers, is it because we are Asian faces, so we are treated so differently and suspicious. Although we are foreigners, we are not short of money, and we have eaten in many excellent restaurants in various countries. I have never encountered such an embarrassing situation, which makes me feel wronged. I didn't expect that the "perfect restaurant" I recommended to my friends was actually such a restaurant. I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep, and writing this review fully states the real situation I...
Read moreStaff were great about our booking and even were happy to accomodate dogs (although we didn’t end up bringing them), so I really wanted to love this place.
The outside patio is lovely but very noisy. Noting there was a large group over 12, but there was no where to hide so the nice intimate space felt like a train station. Staff were definitely busy and perhaps they were unstaffed as we waited for a while for a drink order and then no one came for a second round. Sadly, we missed out on the lamb which was already sold out by 7 pm.
Wine list was great and we ordered a number of dishes. The wagyu beef was the best one alongside the artichoke dip. The other dishes all tasted ok but flavours were lacking, especially for the prawns and the fried chicken. Just didn’t quit hit the spot. The mussels were nice, but lots of honey, very very sweet and a bit pricy at $36.
Overall, a good spot for a wine and a wee bite, but I wouldn’t go for dinner again. The food didn’t quite live up to...
Read moreI had wagyu carpaccio. 24.5$ this was a nice dish with tender small pieces of beef with salad and croutons, Parmesan and reddish. Although quantity was small and not sure if it was freaky wagyu beef as I can’t tell difference.
Had to supplement with prawns 19.5$. which was also very taste (8prawns and pistachio and risotto) but quite a bit of oil so had to tilt the dish to drain it to one side.
For dessert had white rocky road 8.9$ which I was told is for her white chocolate in fresh fruit. This turned out to be marshmallow in white French chocolate with pistachio and dried apricot I think. Couldn’t tell. No fresh fruits. Quite disappointing and left almost all of it.
Overall 53$ and 70.4 with a drink. Overall food quality was fine but quantity was small. Service was great 5/5 . Try their sharing dishes as they r...
