Better Burger Ormiston — Restaurant in Howick

Usually have had good experiences here, decided to go around 12:30am on Friday to dine in as they don’t close till 4am. There was only one guy working at the time & he cooked our two double cheeseburgers & fries.

Unfortunately fries were a bit undercooked as they were still hard, and as I bit into one of the burgers, I had a look at the patty and it was completely raw. I asked the guy working if he could make another burger and he suggested a Mushroom burger as something was wrong with the “beef patties” (Although I think he just didn’t cook them thoroughly).

Had a bite of the mushroom burger & it tasted vile, absolutely wouldn’t recommend. Ended up asking if he could just make another beef patty and just cook it thoroughly and the guy apologised and also stated that he “Doesn’t even work here”

I ended up getting a refund & going to McDonalds instead. If I knew the experience was going to be this disappointing I would’ve saved my time & energy and dined...

So firstly I ordered from the online menu and went to pick up the burgers but the place wasn't even constructed yet and I had been charged. There was still builders equipment laying around. They gave me a refund quickly and the manager apologized but he did push to give me vouchers instead of a refund. Second problem is I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and ordered again. Went on their grand opening day. It was only 1pm but the place was already a mess, not enough tissues on the tables, dirty floor, rubbish lying around, tables not wiped down. All this while several employees were sitting around at the front counter seemingly uninterested in actually doing their jobs. Besides the environment, the food itself was average at best. The spicy chicken burger lacked spice, resulting in just a chicken burger. The beef was dry and tasteless. The chips were soggy with oil. Unfortunate that this was the experience but it...
