NZ BAKERY DONUTS — Restaurant in Howick

Update Oct 2025: They have updated their donut recipe here to improve their donuts and it really has made their donuts better. The donuts are now really soft. Highly recommend the custard filled donuts, especially the Oreo Cookie Custard Filled Donut, so soft and more filling inside the donuts now.

Pies are still ok, nothing special.

They do take feedback on board and do strive to improve on their food so do give them feedback to help them improve.

Original Review below The pies here were ok, i had the chicken pie and the steak and cheese pie, the flaky pastry taste good, the pies both had lots of meat, the gravy/sauce was too jelly for me.

Pies - 1 Donuts - 4

We got the steak and cheese pie, chicken mushroom and potato top. The steak and chicken were super dry, the gravy is on the thicker side. Could be seasoned better. The potato top was the best of the three but still pretty average

We also got the hazelnut donut and plain sugared donut, hazelnut donut is pretty good had a lot of filling and the donut itself was thin. Filling wasn't too sweet. The plain sugared donut was fluffy and dense at the same time, it was mid.

Overall won't try again. Not sure if they had an off day but would recommend the bakery at Ormiston mall instead if you're...

A great little place for Donuts and milk tea. Affordable and delicious. I have tried most of the custard filled donuts and they are very good. Also the mango milk tea is the best I have had so far. I thought it was better compared to Mo mo tea / gong cha. If you want to support new local business this is the place to go to.
