My dad is disabled. He is a faithful buddhist and always wish to have lunch here to support the temple. However, he was insulted by the front lady. She tried to push him out and didn't listen to their view, very aggressive and no sense of compassion like the buddha's teachings. Very sad to see such a volunteer who didn't have a deep understanding of what it means to be a buddhist and the kindness of being a human toward a disabled and unstable mental elderly. She also tried to insult me in public by telling untrue comments while I was politely requesting: "could you please stop and let me finish ordering food, then I'll immefuately go to the car and get a towel to obey your rule". Here is the thing. My dad is disabled and have difficulty to wear long pants. He normally has MEDIUM pants over the knees not short or disrespectful clothes . My parents believe it is not disrespectful to our Buhhda as it's mideum long pant and didn't break the rule of the temple based on their photo at the gate. If you look at the photo it is not allowed for short skirts and short pants above the knees. So we can see many ladies where medium skirts just over the knees, and they just didn't stop them. But gentlment who wear medium pants are not allowed to enter. It could make them feel bad and discriminated. However, I told my parents it's just okay, even it's not reasonable but since it's their place we just follow them and let it go. But, my parents said the attitude of the volunteer is very arrogant, aggressive, unkind. My parents encountered with her twice. She then approached me in public and told I told you many times, it's your responsibility. Well, they are my parents and I cant command and treat them like kids. I advised them not to dine in in this restaurant again. I think we will not come back. Also, it just happened that I took a photo of a 2 year old kid wearing short dress over knees. I asked another volunteer if it's okay, she couldn't respond. I think they should understand deeper the dress code, in addition, they should explain with kindness and compassion to convince people if they believe they didn't do wrongly based on their photo at the gate and our faith to buddha. When I hope to sit down and kindly explain why my parents were angry and if the volunteer was wrong in the sense of her attitude (we support her in term of rules but the main concern is her attitude, she used rules to abuse elderly) I asked if I might please talk to a person in charge or a manager or how to give a feedback, they don't have such system there. I just hope to ask them for their kindness and revise the rules to be clearer. Certainly, I told my parents please obey the rules of the place we visit regardless if it is right or unreasonable....
Read moreWould recommend if you pick the right dish. Hit and miss. Great selection, and I'm still genuinely intrigued by the menu and would like to try more as there appears to be some good items, but so far it's very hit and miss. Eg ordering the laksa delux noodle soup, that was 4/5 for flavor and I genuinely enjoyed it, the fish balls I couldn't tell was meatless, the vege BBQ pork tasted nothing like the real thing but looked good in presentation. Warning : very large portion, I could finish it only just. But second time visiting, both dishes were misses. Wonton noodle soup was bad (think instant noodles in a very salty broth, the fake sausage slices were great, couldn't tell was vege, wontons were not enjoyable and most were even broken). Same for the spicy sour vermicelli dish. That was not enjoyable in taste nor texture, only enjoyable part of the dish was the fish balls (couldn't tell was meatless either). The dish actually isn't a hot pot either unlike the presentation. On arrival candles weren't even lit, kind waitress relit upon request, then we realized later a lit candle (think tea light) doesn't even warm the structure.... It's just for presentation. Kind waitress had explained the food was already cooked. Would not repeat order of either dish from the second visit. 1/5 for...
