Jun Yue Seafood Restaurant 君悅海鮮酒樓 — Restaurant in Māngere-Ōtāhuhu

We happened upon this place by chance. We were staying in a nearby hotel and looking for a place to dine. We don't know the area and after driving around the neighborhood we saw a block of shops with a variety of eating places and fortunately my daughter chose JunYue seafood. I've always been hesitant with suburban Chinese restaurants but this place served the best Chinese food I've since I worked in Beijing. All the dishes were generous servings and freshly prepared. I chose the Chinese Anchovy with tofu. It was to die for. The salty Anchovy matched the tofu like it had always meant to be. My daughter had roast duck, it was a generous serve an perfectly cooked. Them there was the prawn and coriander dumplings. My granddaughter had the icecream dumplings. The decor is your average Chinese fittings, but who cares? It's all about the food. Went there yesterday, 10/7/2025, first in the doors, welcome was great, atmosphere lovely, music playing, clean and hospitable. Menu comprehensive enough to satisfy with little bits of intriguing?authentic plates? Whatever it was yum. Then the food, arohamai didn’t get any pics but just saying, fast service, delicious cuisine. We had beef tendons, chicken feet, plate of perfectly cooked bok choy, braised pork ribs, glutinous rice wrapped prawns and barbecue pork with rice. A feast needless to say we took home our leftovers. Definitely going back to try more and taking my whanau with me next time they will love it. Recommend to those who want different, especially Maori ma. Oh and first up complimentary pot of Jasmine Tea and plate of 6 deep fried...

Awesome restaurant. It's the only "drink tea" (Yum cha) in Mangere that I know of. Food is authentic , service is fantastic, prices are the cheapest then any Yum cha restaurants I've been to.

Very clean & tidy. Location is a plus, just in airport oaks. Next to other cafes & bar. But quitely tucked away in the corner. We find this place few months ago thru a broucher in the mailbox And we been going there ever since with family and friends. Can't fault this place. Tried to tip them but didn't accept it. So hopefully my review is my way of thanking them.
