Man so disappointed…on Tuesday I brought bubble tea, totally unaware of the fact that they were requiring vaxx pass to buy from them (I rung and ordered over phone) picked up and was not asked to produce a vaxx pass. The next day I went back to order the same thing and was shocked when I seen a massive sign outside stating that only vaccinated people could buy food from them. I rung the lady in the shop to confirm that this was only if you were eating there and she said No, told her that I didn’t have a vaccine pass and couldn’t believe that I had been buying bubble tea from them without a vaccine pass. She told me don’t worry about it, it’s too late I ordered it and that she’d still sell it to me. But if I wanted any in the future that I’d have to produce a vaxx pass. I can’t understand why they’re discriminating (pre order) but if you manage to make an order then they’ll accept??? So confusing, and then when I asked to speak to manager or owner, they were sooooo rude. Their service is atrocious! I’ll never buy from this place again, even when the vaxx passes end (next week) Thank god the bubble tea shop is opening directly opposite and won’t be as discriminating as these people. Side note, I noticed that they said the reason you have to be vaxxed to buy from them is because you have to walk past their customers to pick up food, however Cafe Anatolia (a few doors down) and sushi man (a few doors up) have the exact same layout and are not discriminating…even their staff don’t agree with what they’re doing (after I spoke with their manager, she said that she doesn’t understand either and that she’s only “doing her job”) I believe the owners are in full agreement with the segregation and discrimination which is why they’ve opted to not have unvaxxed buy from them. So disgusting and so disappointing. I’ll be going to Thai taste...
Read moreWe stopped here for lunch on Easter Monday, as they were one of the few places open in Levin. It was a chilly day outside and we walked in to a spacy, warm and clean seating area in front of the register. They have a big menu on the wall with photos which makes it a lot easier to choose what you'd like to eat. I got the sweet and sour pork with rice. My friends got a panang curry and a duck curry. The serving size are generous, although the rice size is very modest (most places have a lot of rice with a modest amount of main). My dish was delicious, quite astringent and semi-rich with lots of veges which was just what I needed. The curries were quite rich and savoury, you'd def need more rich than the serving size they give if you wanted to finish it all. All in all the service was great and the food was really delicious and flavourful. We really enjoyed...
Read moreI went to Kaffir lime today for bubble tea. I was not asked what size I'd like and sold a large which I'm assuming is the default as it's more expensive.
That aside, usually I am satisfied with the drink I order. It's always been super tasty and with a good amount of crushed ice.
Today I was absolutely appalled at the amount of (or lack of) tapioca bubbles in the tea. I mean, come on, tapioca isnt THAT expensive and providing more then two tablespoons should be a given considering the price of the drink.
This disappointment is slightly lessened by the attitude and efficiency of the staff who are lovely and friendly and always greet you...
