I ordered lamb rogan josh, but what was served was lamb in a butter chicken style gravy. This was not authentic rogan josh and felt misleading. Very disappointing experience.

Their dhal makani is fantastic, you get a nice hint of clove and charcoal if I am not mistaken. Highly recommended.

Update: 25th September. Goan fish curry and vegetable korma. Excellent. Everything we have had to date has been spot on.

Update 30th June 2022: what happened? Had two curries that were so laden with salt as to be close to inedible, and a garlic naan that did not appear to have any garlic on it.

I have been to some Indian restaurants but when I visited this one,I have to admit that it is the best Indian restaurant I have been so far in new Zealand as far as taste and quality of food is concerned. I like the taste of the food very much.It's authentic Indian taste.The staff and owner are polite .If you are looking for good Indian taste with quality then I would suggest you should go...

I had this indian tonight and it was amazing! I've eaten tons of Indian food in NZ, and this was by far the best chicken Tikkia I've ever had. You can get half and half for only $12!

We also enjoyed the samosas and garlic and cheese nann, while my partner really enjoyed his goat curry. I would definitely return if I ever visited Levin again.
