If I go to the Sideline bar it is usually on a Friday early evening (after work) and it is always busy.
Even though there are at least three bar tenders unless you are lucky or good with your timing, expect to wait to get served. Jugs of beer take a bit longer to pour and with the $10 jug and pizza deal it makes sense to get a jug and pizza.
They do the jug and pizza deal on Fridays up until 9 pm, pizzas are Hawaiian, BBQ bacon, satay or apricot chicken, garlic chicken, and vegetarian.
The service is really good, we usually manage to get a table outside and the staff deliver the pizzas, often juggling a few pizzas at a time on wooden platters. And tables are cleared regularly.
The Sideline has a food menu that includes deluxe pizzas (a different selection than the standard ones) meatlovers, Mexican, supreme, chicken and Camembert, and BBQ chicken. You can get chips and food that goes with chips, seafood basket, even a Sideline platter.
As a sports bar the Sideline has pool tables, dart boards, TAB, a Juke box, gaming machines and lots of TVs around the place showing sports.
There is usually live music on a Friday evening from 9 pm. and sometimes on a Sunday afternoon from 3 pm, but check with them or their website to...
Read moreI had an unpleasant experience at this Bar about a year ago. After a long shift at work, I arrived with my boss, still in my hi-vis gear. Despite clearly being of age and accompanied by my employer, I was refused entry by an older man—who I believe was the owner or manager—because I didn’t have my ID on me. I was also told I wouldn’t be served and was then asked to leave.
While I fully respect the need to check ID, the way it was handled came across as unnecessarily strict and lacking in professionalism or basic courtesy. It felt unfair and dismissive, especially after a hard day’s work. A little common sense and better customer service would have...
Read moreAs always fair to middling. They just have 1 girl working there who gives you a very sour look, like what do you want. It's worse that she puts a smile on for the regular old boys. Got to wonder if it's coz I'm a girl or brown. I honestly cringe when I see that scoury face and I have to talk to her. Instant downer. She shouldn't be there if she can't treat everyone the same. Has absolutely no idea what customer service is nor realise she's only got a job because of us as customers. Only takes one bad apple to tarnish the experience and think why can't she be like the others who are welcoming. As a customer service trainer it's appalling that she is...
