Soho Cafe & Bar — Restaurant in Napier

My partner and I went and tried Soho for the first time on Saturday. Working in hospitality myself and with the holiday period, we both fully understood that there would be wait times everywhere and that it was absolutely no issue to us at all that we had to wait 40 minutes. The food was excellent and very much well worth the wait! The team there were friendly and was nice to have a great first impression of a business we’d been wanting to try for so long. What stood out to us the most was the fact that the owner understood that some of us had waited a while for our meals and took it upon herself to walk around and offered us to try their GF caramel slice and ensure all of us were okay despite the fact that we were in a cafe setting and usually cafes are much different to restaurants in a sense that staff do not need to check in on us. Not ever going back there again, after being told our 7yr old had to eat her sushi elsewhere while the adults had their coffee and food. What is going on with these people, no signage saying that you couldn't eat other food there. The owner Tania Camplin needs retraining on hospitality, obviously didn't need many customers as it was really empty. We have spoken with the mum of the little girl who works at Kmart and she is letting all the workers know how we were treated. What a wonderful cafe and great service. I have been here only twice and had to write a review which I normally never do! The food is delicious, you get what you pay for. They have alot of staff on which enables all the tables to be cleared and cleaned regularly for the next person. Food and drinks can be within 5-10 mins unless they are busy which I was told prior to how long the wait was going to be. The tables are nicely seperated so your able to move around comfortably and they have great indoor and outdoor area. Great selection of large and small tables enough room for a couple or a family!

This cafe deserves more than 5 stars....
