Tuesday 23rd April. To the young girl taking orders at the till...you need to drop your poor attitude and pull your head in dealing with customers. Ordering a take away "vege wrap" from the cabinet at $12.00 she charged me $13.00. I said NO it says $12.00, but NO she said it is $13.00!!! I said you need to change the price on the cabinet then. When there were no more customers to be served I saw her whisper in the barista's ear laughing right in front of me. Fifteen minutes later, the greasy hot wrap in the bag is handed to me. Upon arriving home 20 minutes away, I discover I have a chicken wrap and not a vege wrap. So annoyingly off I go back to Bennetts to ask for my money back. No apologies on the mistake just cash back from the Barista and a lovely smirk from the young snide girl was priceless. No wonder all the locals are saying it is going downhill!!! Train your staff hospitality and customer service and some manners. I...

This was one of those discoveries I wish there had been more time to explore. Just needed a quick bite on the way up to Northland and saw the sign. Plenty of parking was the first pleasure. The entrance is through the outside seating courtyard area that has a nice feel. I can imagine this would be very busy in the warmer months and a few customers were seated here as it was a nice winter day. The cafe was unfortunately short staffed this day and a sign explained there was no lunch menu. No problem, a heated sandwich from the cabinet and a slice of cake would suffice. The food and coffee was delivered and consumed in short order and I would have headed straight out, but...

... Bennett's is also a chocolate manufacturer so a visit to the shop was a must. You can see the manufacturing action through the viewing windows then try and resist purchasing some of their goods. Great for gifts and self indulgence.

Definitely a place for...

Wow, this place is a real gem, it feels like you’re sitting down to have brunch in Greece. The place is well maintained, and absolutely beautiful, the gardens, decor, just everything makes it feel like you’re on holiday. I would highly recommend this cafe. Today I had the chicken burger, because the place is so popular there weren’t many tables, we found one and it was cleared as we sat down. The order line took awhile to get through but food came fast considering that. Chicken burger seemed like it had a whole chicken breast in it and a huge amount of mozzarella, was flavourful and great considering the fact that I haven’t had a satisfying burger for awhile, I’d recommend it to people who claim they are so hungry they could eat a horse. Came with shoestring fries, crispy but not oily. Connected to the cafe there is a surf shop upstairs, chocolate shop and a bakery I think, good to have a quick squiz while...

I had the $7 sausage roll, $7 strawberry pastry square and $7 mango cronut. I will not be eating there again. The sausage roll was an oily, soggy mess of disappointment. The filling of sausage had a bitterness of tomato paste and the overall taste of what not a sausage roll should taste like. The mango cronut tasted more like brioche with an unidentifiable yellow filling, while the only thing that tasted like it actually should, was the strawberry square. They did make their own strawberry compote. Poor quality and poor tasting food.

This place has so much promise and whilst the ratings are high, I think the expectations of visitors are quite low. Our coffees were huge and very milky. Our meals were quite salty and greasy. I ordered the scrambled eggs and added bacon and a potato rosti. The bread was over-buttered, the bacon wasn't cooked consistently and the $4 potato rosti was a small hash brown. I overheard others talking of their "salty" meals too.
