Columbus Coffee Whangarei Hospital — Restaurant in North Island

This place has a captivated audience but sadly their coffee & food at times can be a little disappointing.

Granted my coffee order is not standard - I have an Americano with a splash of milk. But several times now while visiting sick friends my coffee has been luke warm & way too much milk.

Their carrot cake is nice & a reasonable size but I wouldn’t get their sandwiches again. The corned beef one I got had no flavour & the meat was sinewy. I had to bin it & at today’s prices it pains me to do so.

Their staff though are super friendly - I just wonder if sometimes the coffee orders aren’t relayed properly.

Sorry for the luke-warm review but cafe’s are my happy place & to throw away food or have a cold coffee is...

I see a lot of people getting mad at staff for closing the dining area. I have come here pretty much everyday for a year and customer service is great, friendly, helpful, and ask you questions to make sure they provide the best coffe and food. I say to all the people criticising the dining area shutting just need to get a grip and find something else to complain about because people don’t wanna hear you complain over something stupid when they just wanna go home. Such a freezing cold day outside but we were seated right at the window with the sun blasting in. The meal (eggs Benedict - salmon for me, bacon for Mum) was huge but so yummy we made sure we finished it even tho we were about to burst. It was disable friendly with Mum (89) on a walking frame. And they rearranged chairs and stuff to accommodate her. Now days accessibility for Mum is as important as the food and Hole in One scored 5...
