Muddy Waters Irish Pub & Restaurant — Restaurant in North Island

Ok, now this place should have stayed burnt down. Where to start....

Table for six, buisiness meeting, one of the table had an emotional attachment to the premesis hence the choice . Entrees, I ordered a dozen oysters, they were served in shell "natural" 2 of which were still frozen, the dressing , thousand island sauce, like ZOMG. 2 x prawn cocktails, again, unfrozen from packet. Tasteless rubbish drenched in thousand island sauce from the same bottle. Dodgy garlic bread served as an after thought.

Mains, I ordered a rump steak, chips and a side of mushrooms, I received a Weiner schnitzel looking repulsive cut with cold fries eggs - none ordered and no mushrooms, some kind of limp salad thing all for the rip off price of 43$ Another "rump steak" was served that was equally disturbing and completely non congruent with how mine looked. A sirloin was served, asked for rare, served well done, and it wasn't sirloin (im a butcher by trade) the fish and chips were cold and the fish was microwaved!!!! (Damp warm) the waitress looks like she had just finished her CADs course and had the personality to match. Utterly disgraceful, our meals were served over a twelve minute period, from first to last plate ... Awkward!!! Prior to our meals we we served with the next tables two meals that sat at our table for five minutes before said ex addict came and said... And I fib you not!!! Hey these meals haven't been touched right???? She then took them directly to the next table and served them... Did I mention 3 people at our table had or were just over the flu?? Like wow lady... The next table never noticed her gaff and proceeded to eat their meals with their young kid!!! Avoid this place like the plague, tomorrow I am having my PA make a complaint to whatever passes as management there.oh btw that awesome dining experience cost me 300$

Food was average, prawn pizza had sweet chilli sauce overflowing so felt like I was eating sweet chilli sauce pizza, chicken salad had the dressing overloaded. Also, If I had the option of rating their customer service as Zero, I would. Racism at its peak. We were (a group of 11) the only brown skinned customers at the time in the restaurant (not the bar) and spent a good amount of money on meals. Opposite this restaurant is McDonalds so 2 kids wanted meals from there so we thought, yeah why not!! I mean we’re buying meals from here and we can all be happy, i.e., adults get to have a nice feed and the kids will also be happy but nah… apparently when we started taking out the kids meals, we got told by the most grumpiest staff over the counter that we cannot eat “that” inside attracting attention of other customers. “That” was apparently food not some trash for her to make her face the way she did. She could’ve nicely approached us and informed us kindly and slowly that outside meals are not allowed. No suggestions or attempts to make us happy after spending so much money in their restaurant. Preference was given to $20 Maccas meal and I can confidentially say that Maccas has power because the staff got really worked up lol…We sat and ate outside split in 2 groups. I wish I could teach staff on how to talk and smile (basic manners). Oh and by the time we left, not a single table inside was occupied but hey, it’s alright because I think the staff were worried that they would’ve had to throw Maccas pkg after we finished our meals. Food was good, cannot say the same about the staff though, apart from one lady at the bar (apologies i cannot recall her name, she was lovely). The 2 ladies at the restaurant side were very rude esp one of them. Very unaccomodating. We bought food worth over $150 and only bought food from outside for our 2 kids but were told we cannot eat there. There was no notice written anywhere to say that nor did anyone show us. Rather us 8 adults were told to go and sit at the tables outside and eat. With no tables to accomodate all 10 of us. No one even made an attempt to come and see if we the patrons were well comfortable. They gave our food in takeaway boxes with rudeness level at 10/10. Our first time to this place and the worst ever service we experienced. I am so upset we came all the way from Auckland and i shall never ever by mistake even recommend this place to anyone.
