Penny's Cafe — Restaurant in North Island

I can’t keep away after yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Newish owners Phoebe and Wendy are so friendly and great breakfast and morning tea cooks. The Sacred Grounds coffee perfect. The covered area is warm and cosy. I mean to walk home and make my own breakfast but usually drop in to Pennys for Phoebe’s beautiful $12 scrambled eggs on grain bread. What a beautiful little spot. Arrived just on opening and felt like we were coming into a friends home. Our pup was treated to a pup cup. The big breakfast tasted homemade (and my husband still talks about the mushrooms) and the iced mocha was heavenly. So many goodies to choose from (your fruit mince pies were next level). Will definitely become our go to spot each time we travel through Taupo....

Yet again we've had a wonderful experience coming to Penny's Café :-) Such lovely ladies, warm and inviting atmosphere, my children and I love our visits while we're in town!! Highly recommend. Such a plus is that children eat half price during the holidays and for a family with 5 children...
