Sequoia Eatery Rotorua — Restaurant in North Island

I went in today with my mum and got a Banoffee Frappe thinking it would be Banana and Toffee as that is what banoffee is. When I recieved my frappe it had coffee in it, I went back in and informed the server that I could not drink it as I cannot have large amounts of caffeine. The server was lovely and asked if I was okay and went to go and change my drink. I was happy with this outcome and went to sit down and wait for my new drink to come out. This is when the lady who I can only assume is the owner or manager came out and told me I should know what I am ordering and that banoffee is banana and coffee and that she wouldn't normally replace it. I politely informed her that she would find most people believe that banoffee is banana and toffee and if she googles it she would find the same. She then proceeded to quite aggressively argue with me and when I told her that she should at least put on the menu that it has coffee in it she walked away laughing. After I got my drink and left I double checked with both people and Google and banoffee is definitely banana and toffee. This woman was rude and argumentative towards me and cannot seem to grasp the concept of what banoffee is. Overall I left this cafe with a bad taste in my mouth in more ways then one. Absolutely excellent food. Many vegetarian, gluten, and dairy free options. Vegan was a bit harder to decipher but there were a few good options. I had the sequoia granola and it was absolutely wonderful. The nuts combined with the raspberry and coconut yogurt was an amazing combination that was sophisticated and flavorful. My girlfriend loved the coffee (she’s a better judge of coffee than I am). She had the açaí bowl and loved it. I also had the berry slice which was very chocolaty but also great and vegan to boot. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Shiqoya Eatery – Simply Outstanding! What a fantastic place! The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavour, and the coffee was just perfect — rich, smooth, and made with real skill. Big praise to the amazing chef and especially the boy who made the coffee — he was absolutely awesome! The young man at reception was very friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home.
