Called in for dinner on the way home from Wellington after reading the reviews. We just wanted somewhere to sit and relax to break our trip and have a good feed that didn't cost the earth. Wasn't disappointed at all. The food tasted amazing and was plentiful, the service was extra friendly and he made us feel right at home and it was very reasonably priced. Don't judge a book by its cover. Even though the shop front may not look like a 5 star restaurant, the food and the staff surpass all expectations. The food is amazing. Well balanced, great portion sizes (you definitely won't leave hungry), and it doesn't hurt the pocket. We will definitely be stopping here for dinner again the next time we go through Dannevirke. A hidden gem that needs more...
