The Kitchen Table — Restaurant in North Island

I always wanted to try The kitchen table but after a long time I got the opportunity to come grab some breakfast...the overall ambience was nice and calm. The staff was pretty nice...ordered a half Eggs Benedict..took about 15 mins for the food to arrive...which was not bad... The Potato rosti was a good base for the Benny... Complimented the hollandaise sauce... Bacon was cooking the way I enjoy ... Only critique would be the portion size was pretty small for a $17.5 breakfast... otherwise would have been a 5 star review...I'd definitely come back to try other menu items.

This is forever my favourite cafe to return to when I’m back home in New Plymouth. The food is always lovely, the coffee amazing and the service unbeatable. After returning the staff began remembering me even though I was only there a couple times a year! Unfortunately the last time I was in New Plymouth was for a family members funeral, when the staff heard this they came up to my family and I and gave us a huge bag of muffins to take. Used to go here regularly but has gone down hill since new ownership. Place dirty, needs a full deep clean. Plenty of brown dust/grease on all higher ledges/wall ledges/light fittings. Watched chef make a panini, pulled apart bread and handled, then opened dishwasher and put dirty dish, then decided to get out his phone and swipe then turned back to panini to continue making it and handling it!!! Disgusting guys!!! Educate in your food hygiene protocols and up your handwashing!! Customers watch in an open kitchen. Poor standards. ...
