What. A. Spot. Look at all the other photos of the outdoor stuff - we’re here for the diner food! Cream horns are awesome. Lemon, caramel, passion fruit, chocolate, raspberry, and boysenberry… crispy, light, and thoroughly delicious cones of cream filled goodness. The other food is pretty damn good too - love the way they serve other warmed up food with a wee side salad. The raspberry match boxes are also awesome… the old school raspberry cream bun but on puff pastry, and uber tastiness, with lightly sweetened fresh whipped cream, with a subtle raspberry icing… just sooo good with a cuppa, if we had remembered to get one 😂 The pies… ahh yes. The tasty pies. Steak and kidney? Was bloody delicious. The potato top? Heaven🤤 Why wouldn’t you go to Viv’s kitchen? A. You have diabetes B. You have a gluten intolerance (not a hell of a lot of options from memory) C. Hate pastry or whipped cream We didn’t try the coffee, but we’ll save that for another day. Damn near ate one of everything else. We didn’t come here because we want a playground for kids… why would you even go to a cafe for that 😂 you go for the FOOD. And we weren’t disappointed. We’ll be back!!!

Viv's Kitchen Sanson is a very good place to stop for a break, excellent selection of cabinet food you can have yummy savoury pies, etc. heated with a side salad added, very nice indeed, bigger meals if want, or, just a cake, not forgetting the cream horn. The place is very roomy with different areas to sit, outside if you want to, in the Gazebo. The staff were very efficient, very polite, did a excellent job. Very good parking area. Good toilet versatility. Great area outside to stretch your legs, kids to play, as they are making a play gound, dolls house, putting trampoline in, they are going all out for there customers. There are alot of good points going for Viv's Kitchen. I think there pricing was very good, this has been one of the best places for prices yet. I would give this cafe a 5 star rating, l will definitely be back again, give it a go. Thankyou Louise

Heard lots about this place and it is all 100% correct. This cafe is fantastic. The service is fast and friendly staff and the food is amazing. We stopped on the way to Wellington and had breakfast we all had lambs fry and bacon. Wow lambs fry was cooked perfect with just the right ratio of lambs fry to bacon. The nice gravy with onions was beautiful. The coffee at this place is very nice and hot unlike some cafes. On the way home we had poached eggs and bacon and eggs bene with bacon. Again excellent meals. We then couldn’t help but by 6 cinnamon oysters as these are yum. Viva cafe is an absolutely must stop if travelling through Sanson. This will be. Regular stop for me. I have it on good advice the cream horns, pies and donuts are to die for also. My arteries could only handle one lot of goodies today.

On the 2 of August my husband, baby and I went to vivs for the second time for brunch for a hot drink and to try the cream horn and hot wedges . It wasn't all that busy so my order shouldnt of have been messed up . I gave the server at the counter my full order so I thought it was in. I was then given a table number and we sat down to wait . Our hot drinks arrived and we were asked if we had anything else to come we said yes hot wedges, after the server asked our number we were surprised no one checked our order to see where it was, knowing we had been sitting for awhile, while our baby was crying . I went back to ask if they were coming , they looked up our table number and said we did not order any, its normal to make a mistake with the orders but the way that it was handled from this one server left a bad taste in my mouth . The lady that took my order was not welcoming when I asked about the wedges and gave me a horrible look as I asked too . I felt very put off being there . when i was ordering the lady in front of me her food had been dropped by the server and she picked it back up with her hand next to the till .

The 1st time we came for brunch and saw the owners there , the servise was great , but the second time we were there it didint seem like the owner was there and it felt like the standerd had droped. Beside from all that the food and play ground was great , we were going to recommend it to family and friends but we won't...

Visited recently, supposed to open at 7am, we were the only vehicle in the carpark at 6:55, staff finally opened the door at 7:08am. First customers of the day, placed order politely, received coffee, very nice, wife received cabinet food for her order. I sat patiently waiting for my food, customers came and went, nearly an hour later I inquired if they had actually started to cook my breakfast. No was the answer so I requested a refund as I had further to travel and appointments to keep. We were two of three customers seated during this period and at no time did any staff member inquire about our meal as the order marker was clearly visible standing on our table. In my past dining experience this normally means someone at that table had not received there order. We had actually diverted our trip to have breakfast at Viv's as in the past we have been take out customers only. I can assure the owners we won't be back, this is our 3rd bad hospitality experience in as many days and quite frankly I am over it. The industry harps on and on about how hard done by they are and when you make an effort to support them you get treated like an inconvenience. I wasn't offered any small token of compensation by way of an apology, " very sorry sir and please accept a pie on us', no here's your money and goodbye. Good luck Viv's, you...
