Original review: Not Covid-19 safe unfortunately, and I can't go back while this is the case. This cafe was my regular spot to go to during radiation treatment earlier this year, and the food, coffee and service have always been great. That's why I was disappointed that during my visit on the first day of Palmerston North being in Orange level, none of the three staff were wearing masks, and no vaccination passes were being checked. While I was there the customers who came in wore masks to their tables and scanned in, which was great to see. I'm sad that the staff weren't taking the lead from their (many of them vulnerable and immunocompromised) customers and sticking to regulations in order to help protect everybody. The location is opposite the hospital in Palmerston North. Has a decent amount of tables and seating plus space to move around. An outdoor area which would be lovely on a warm day. The food was delicious. Went with a group of four and had a selection of different food options. The eggs bene was delicious and cooked beautifully. Had a choice to have it with different options, not only just bacon. The waffles were a decent size serving and delicious for a sweet treat. Massive chicken burger, better than KFC. Went here because of a Facebook post claiming “the best holly in town”. It turned out to be not so great, with a bought in sauce that wasn’t even made in house. We gave some honest feedback on their Facebook page and had our first post deleted. We reposted and the business replied but I have since been blocked and I assume the post has been deleted again.
