Coffee On The Terrace — Restaurant in Palmerston North

Ive just popped in for a takeaway coffee and couldn't resist a ginger gem as well. The café was quite busy, and the poor staff member serving on her own - taking orders, making coffees, getting the food ready, as well as serving tables. She looked calm, acknowledged me when I came to the counter and said she won't be long (very rare these days - the norm seems to be being ignored), took the time and care to give me the ginger gem first when she could, with butter and takeaway utensils, and she made a damn good coffee to boot! I hope the owner reads this - you've got a good one there. I dont often leave reviews, but I hope the owner sees this and knows what an asset they have. Great ginger gem, and great coffee. Well done to the young lady who was serving today! I hope youre getting paid well.... because youre doing the job...

This place used to be really good back in the day,

My husband and I came for lunch and had a long wait for our food — which ended up coming out at completely different times. His order was wrong: he asked for a chicken burger and was given something that looked and tasted like a vegetarian patty.

I ordered the BLAT focaccia, and it was really underwhelming — two small pieces of bacon with a soggy mess of salad slapped on soft, damp bread.

Honestly, you might be better off grabbing something from the cabinet instead of ordering from the kitchen. They might even want to consider focusing on takeaway only...

Had a mix up on the till with a new employee in training with what was ordered and charged extra. I had not kept the receipt and was unaware yet they refunded and let me know. We had our baby with us and the chef had come to tell us there was a small wait, saw we had baby and brought out baby’s food and the wait was not even long for our food. The portions was awesome and price really good for what we got! It also was yum! Highly recommend even with staff in training and limited staff on that time in the morning they did a great job!
