Braemar Motor Lodge — Hotel in Palmerston North

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Braemar Motor Lodge for two nights, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Cameron, the host, whose hospitality truly made my stay exceptional.

The room was spotless, spacious, and incredibly comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. The attention to detail was impressive—from the cozy bed to the well-equipped kitchenette and pristine bathroom. It was evident that the lodge is well-maintained and thoughtfully managed.

Cameron went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed, offering great local recommendations and making me feel right at home. His friendliness and dedication to guest satisfaction were truly outstanding.

The location was also perfect—convenient yet peaceful, making it an ideal spot for both leisure and business travelers.

Stay for 4 nights at Braemar. Very clean but very poor service from the owner. He accused us that we finish the air freshner and he couldnt find it. I came into the bathroom and pick up the air freshner which was on the sink still near new and walked to the reception desk and give it to the owner and said, what is this. He argued back that he looked it was not there, it was not there, it was not there when i raised my voice it was right there. We pay money to stay in your motel and use what is there. We felt that we have been watch of what we used. We will never stay at Braemar Motel, very bad service. Owner argued with the clients very very bad where he should apologise for his mistake. He made us felt that we stole a very cheap air freshner, who does that. We may appear different but that doesnt mean that you treat us like that, we are not...

I have stayed at Braemar on multiple occasions. It's definitely my preferred choice when I visit Palmerston North. Cam and his team are very welcoming. They always go above and beyond what you normally expect. They would have my room serviced and ready early outside the normal routine to fit my schedule, which was always very appreciated.

Note that some of the kitchen utensils, and appliances have been updated since they have taken over. The furniture refresh has also made it very nice to stay in.

The location is fantastics being nearby the hospital but not too close to the helipad. Also very convinent to walk to town or to New World nearby for food.
