Great food, great service.

At the Southern edge of Wellsford, near the war museum and information board, the restaurant, cafe, takeout is easy to find.

Plenty of inside and outside tables and seating for families, groups and yet 'tidy enough' for a cosy time too.

Great cakes, slices, and other 'sweets', savories, pies and the like and more mundane breads and buns. Some great fresh-cooked meals and snacks if you prefer. Awesome coffee, and cold drinks available.

Happy, pleasant and helpful team members arrive a little after 6 am, so I've had a few nice (big)...

Dont get put off by the bright orange facade and dated interior. The pies here are GREAT! We always stop on our way through Wellsford to pick up one of their incredible pies that won them supreme pie award in 2013.

The pastry is fabulous, light and crisp and the filling ( steak and cheese for me) is wonderfully flavoured with just enough gravy and not a thickener in sight. And of grave importance when you are eating ala car, the pie temperature is always just right so you can chomp straight in without giving yourself third...

Just after midday place was virtually empty with about 5 tables still filled with dirty plates and cups with napkins blowing around and more flies than I'd like to compete with. Tried a stuffed sausage and chips both of which were lukewarm. Coffee was good. Probably should have just had a pie. PS - I should have known when part of my stuffed sausage slipped off the plate and the counter lady used her bare hands to push the piece back on the plate!!!! Will not come back and we are almost weekly visitors...
