Cinnamon Spice Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in South Island

Thought we would give a new Indian restaurant a go for a change from the normal one we visit regularly . So we decided on getting takeaways from this place and to be completely honest we were quite disappointed. I ordered a lamb korma and my partner ordered the chicken tikka masala. The dishes had very little meat in them and the dishes actually tasted nothing like a korma or a tikka masala. If the recipe has changed that's fine but we ordered the dishes based on the fact that we liked them from how they normally are. My korma was very salty and the tikka was very bland and differed quite considerably from the flavours that these dishes normally have.

Also I was disappointed that I couldn't use my entertainment voucher as I wasn't dining in.

The staff were cheerful and pleasant to deal with but unfortunately the food was a major let down.

Best chicken tikka masala curry in NZ ! hands down!

I’ve tried chicken tikka masala curry and tandoori chicken at so many Indian restaurants around the country, but nothing ever came close to the authentic taste I grew up with… until now.

We ordered takeaway from Cinnamon Spice Indian Cuisine ….. apparently it’s under new management, so we thought we’d give it a go.

I honestly can’t speak highly enough of the food. The tandoori chicken starter was packed with flavour , super juicy and tender. But the chicken tikka curry stole the show. It’s the best I’ve had in New Zealand, full of rich, authentic flavour that reminded me of home.

Massive compliments to the chef and the team out front – the customer service was just as good as the food.
