Have been here a few times and can honestly say it's one of the best dinning experiences I've had in New Zealand. The staff are friendly and warm while remaining professional. The Chefs prepare some of the best Japanese cuisine I've had, even under pressure of a busy restaurant they manage a smile and the occasional joke between themselves without coming off unprofessional. This is a restaurant that doesn't offer good food or good service it offers a top notch dining experience where everything makes for a wonderful evening and will have you wanting to return again and again. It's the ONLY fine dining restaurant I've been to in Queenstown where the ALL the staff seem happy doing their work, from what I could tell the Head Chef (short Japanese gentleman with greying hair) seems to mainly responsible for creating this environment as he interacted with all the staff, chefs and servers alike during the evening. I hope Millbrook Resort truly appreciate this guy for what he has created in...

This was our fourth time to Kobe (or its predecessor) - two have been wonderful, but our visit a year ago and then especially tonight were let down by the service - not the fault of the wait-staff but of their rostering. Admittedly it is Monday night, but it is school holidays and so the place was unsurprisingly busy. Our waiter was friendly and professional - when we saw him. All of us went thirsty, plates were not cleared, and worst of all a $48 beef main was brought old cold having been left awaiting service for too long. Kids got bored waiting for food but thankfully there was enough time for two long plays on the trampoline (and for a search party to be sent out) between courses arriving. The food is good but not good enough to justify the price and especially the lack of service staff. Do yourself a favour and go to one of half a dozen other places within five minutes drive that provide better food and service at the same price, or the same quality at...

I've eaten at countless Japanese restaurants in Sydney and originally wasn't planning to visit Kobe but for a strong recommendation from a friend.

Our dinner surpassed expectations. My partner and I both agreed this was some of the best Sashimi we'd ever had - it practically melted in our mouths. We also tried Maki, Tempura, Gyoza and Sushi Tacos which were all fantastic. I particularly appreciated how the menu allows you to order mixed combinations/fillings on some of the orders so that you can sample a wider range.

The very friendly and courteous service from the Kobe team was also warm and memorable.

We 100% plan to return the next time we travel to Queenstown and we can't wait to try more of the menu.

Do ensure to book ahead to avoid disappointment. We sat at the grill which was comfortable and gave us a view into the kitchen.

Food was exquisite, perfectly executed and worth the higher price tag. The staff were warm and welcoming, and after we shared that we were there to celebrate for a friend, the kitchen presented us with a surprise congratulations dessert platter on the house. It was such a delight 🥰 I’m giving 4 stars because I wished the seating arrangements were more cosy. I like how the kitchen extends out into the service bench all the way to the teppan seating, but the sparse arrangements of tables and the fact that our table was right in front of the door meant the ambience wasn’t what I expected.

If you are in Queenstown and want to have a. Amazing Japanese Dinner experience , this is your place. If you can get a spot by the Tepanaki and watch the chef do the cooking .... that’s a bonus. The presentation on the plates it’s amazing and from all the places I’ve tried they have the most Amazing Dessert ever ... it’s a must. Friendly staff, nice terrace if you are there in a nice day. Even if you are not staying in Millbrook, it’s worth to go for dinner Love it
