So utterly disappointed with this establishment. I admit I am very fussy with where I stay and I struggle in particular with cleanliness/hygiene of bathroom and bedding in accommodation. We were super excited as I had lots of communication with them prior to our stay, as this was to be a very special birthday weekend. We thought it would be just perfect as I felt heard and understood. Lucy in reservations was great, we were on the right track. We paid $989 per night x 4 nights for a 2 bedroom resort home. We were placed in Fox’s Rush Room 11. Avoid it! It is majorily run down. And very very dirty. The pics attached prove this. They had done 3 quality checks before our arrival as the housekeeping team (according to them) had made their best efforts. It was the worst accommodation for cleanliness we have ever stayed in. We spent 4hrs cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen area upon arrival. We were late for dinner then missed the Matariki celebrations in Arrowtown as a result. The entire house felt so grubby and run down. One of the bathroom handbasins kept filling up with water. It needs plunging and the build up of human waste flushed through the pipes. Two toilets would not flush properly, and upon flushing kept filling with water. The toilets are very low to the ground and are much smaller than average toilets. Upon flushing, the water would spit out and hit our feet. We thought a loud boy racer car was staying close by as we heard a loud revving engine of a car arrive regularly. On the 2nd evening we finally realised it was the water pipes after flushing the toilet, running the shower, or handbasin. I can not believe this place overall has good reviews on this platform. They must be loaded ones because honestly it is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. It is supposed to be luxury accommodation. It is far from it. We wish we had read the reviews over all platforms as there are so many that align to this review. I would never of booked it had I dug deeper. So so disappointed. Management were very arrogant and dismissive when I complained. If you have standards,...
Read moreWe had a fantastic stay over Christmas and everything lived up to expectations. We had luckily planned ahead so had Christmas dinner pre booked as well as 2 other restaurants and the spa and golf during our 5 night stay. Not sure how booked up these got so would recommend pre-booking so as to avoid disappointment.|Our room was a deluxe lodge and absolutely perfect, huge bed, lovely bathroom and overlooking a lovely stream with mountain views.|The staff were lovely and all the food we had (Christmas Day in Millhouse, Hole in One and Kobi) was exceptional.|The spa was a fantastic way to relax and really good value for what we got.|The golf course was beautifully maintained and golf etiquette was mainly followed so a very pleasant round.|Some lovely walks around the grounds as well as to Arrowtown and Queenstown - there is also a free shuttle bus on demand to Arrowtown and an hourly bookable shuttle to Queenstown ... Big thank you to Ricky who was a friendly and kind chauffeur!|The only "odd" thing that we found throughout our 5 night stay, which has been mentioned before, is how there is no daily room clean. I understand they are promoting "Green Initiative' (as is every other hotel in NZ) but to not have your bed made each day when you are staying in a luxury resort did seem a bit odd (we'd been travelling for over 3 weeks by the time we got to Millbrook and this was the only place not to service our room) especially when really all they are saving is staff wage bills, as the sheets wouldn't have needed changing (and the amount of towels used during our spa must have easily balanced out the lack of changing them in our room!!) It didn't deter us from enjoying our lovely stay, but it really did stand out as an oddity.|Overall we had a fantastic stay and felt sad...
Read moreWe stayed here 2 nights, location it’s a bit far from Queenstown Center about 20 mins drive. The road has beautiful views of the mountain but it’s dark at night. There were no light poles on the road all the way and the entrance of the resort does not have light so, it can easily be missed.
We reached the place around 2:30PM, but the room wasn’t ready. We finally settled in our room around 3PM. This is a bit of a turn down for me, as we were expecting to get some rest after our long drive from Wanaka and prepare for the NY eve countdown.
The weather was sunny and humid that day, so when we settled in the room i was surprised that there were no AC/ fan. 😔 so we settled with opening the windows while we take our nap. Unfortunately, when we left the room for our NY eve dinner/countdown we didn’t close the windows and when we returned back to our room.. it was full of mosquitos!!! 😭😭😭 it’s about 1AM when we called the reception for some help. They came in with a insect spray and sprayed the ceiling and all the mosquitos drop on our bed and the entire room was smelly. I requested for the bedsheet to be replace and fan to blow the smell away and use it for the night.
Don’t get me wrong, the room was big and spacious.. the surrounding is fantastic everything is looks very pretty. But unfortunate events happened.
