Worst service ever. Only giving it one star because I don't think it will let me give it none.
We don't have McDonald's where we live so we don't know what is on the menu. We were in rolleston on holiday and thought we would treat the kids to maccas for lunch. When we got in the store we had trouble finding a menu, there were posters in the wall advertising some items, while rolling menu advertised other items. It was far from a full menu. We asked the lady behind the counter if she had a full menu and she said she would need to get the manager. The manager arrived wearing a uniform that was about 5 sizes too small and said the menu was advertised and pointed to the revolving menu. We told him we wanted to see everything on the menu ie combo meals etc.... he told us there was nothing he could do and walked off!!
When we managed to place our order (several attempts as the lady taking our order was not listening at all, she looked like she wanted to go to sleep.....), it was wrong. We had ordered two coffees, one without sugar, the other with two. When we asked which coffee had the sugar the lady who had just finished making them couldn't remember (do you really employ gold fish??)
As we waited for our order we saw it placed on the counter and our number was displayed. We went to pick our order up but were told we had to wait while they verified it was ours. We showed the guy our receipt and told him it looked like our order, and that our number was displayed. He had to go and get another staff member to confirm that we were in fact picking up our order!! Then the two started arguing with each other!!!!
We took our order and left to enjoy our anemic looking half cooked fries!!!!
Nice one McDonald's. What a great family treat!!! We must have dealt with at least five halfwitted staff members who all left us feeling wondering how any of these people are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhether they were short staffed or plain forgetful, I had to go back up a few times to collect on some of our order. My kids and I had just flown into Christchurch, picked up our rental and on our way to Dunedin, so we stopped into this maccas for breakfast in Rolleston.
We ordered on the self-serve kiosk and waited for our order as we requested table service. The young lady bought our order over and we thanked her for her service. As we looked through our order on the tray I noticed a few things were missing and luckily the receipt was there so I checked our order.
I walked back up with the receipt to the counter and said I never got my hash brown, the young lady replied and apologized for that which I accepted and put it down to a common mistake.
Then my daughter said she didn't get her sweet and sour sauce with her nuggets, so I said just go up to them and ask for one? Then she comes back and said they told her she had to pay $0.50c for it. That's when I went back up with the receipt and told them she never got her sauce with her nuggets then they happily obliged to give.
At the time we walked in and even during our time there, there really wasn't alot of patrons around to be considered overly busy. Whatever the reason, this was the only let down to the ratings for this particular maccas. To all customers, please make sure you keep your receipts & check your orders. Not just for this maccas but for every maccas around NZ. This is a very common issue in fast food takeaway franchises...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDrive through Macas Rolleston on Saturday night December 16th 2023 Firstly 2 cheese burgers cost $10 which I couldn't believe and then when I got home 2 minutes later, this is what I unwrapped The cheese burger ($5) was a flat maybe 2 cm thick mess. Look in the photo attached , I have it between my thumb and first finger, more like a pancake than a burger Looked like someone and dropped it out the window of the drive through, ten cars had run over it and then reversed back over it just for good measure, then the macas staff went outside picked it up and put it in a bag for me. Now if you are going to charge $5 for what is basically a bread roll with a tiny piece of meat, a squirt of tomato sauce, ten tiny rice size pieces of onion, and 1 slice of querken, at least make it look like you do in your advertising Even my dog wasn't interested in eating it I would like to challenge McDonalds into giving us the public what they actually advertise. Fries are only hot 20% of the time, the fries are only ever half full, never have enough salt, and when you get home and unwrap your food they always forget to put the sweet n sour sauce in the bag (which destroys the whole taste of the meal) and leaves you disappointed once again, and you cant be bothered driving back to the store because everything is cold and its just a drama I dont know why we keep going back, I think the tipping...
