Mexicali Fresh Lincoln — Restaurant in South Island

I have been a loyal Mexicali customer for years, primarily at the Wigram site which has always been amazing. After moving to Lincoln a year ago I was excited to Have a Mexicali so close, but sadly have to pass on my continual disappointment with this branch in the hope positive changes can be made. Occasionally, the food is of the usual Mexicali standard, but most of the time I'm let down with incorrect orders, sub-par quality and small portion sizes. Bean swaps specifically listed on the app order and printed on receipts are ignored, extras (or even normal components) are missed and options are out of stock. It feels like there is a huge inconsistency between staff members and more training is required to get orders fulfilled accurately and in line with other...

First and last visit.

We didn’t know until we walked in this is not a standard Mexicali’s and the food is not made in front of you. They had 4 staff on, we were the only customers yet they took 20mins to make our food.

Ordered 2x nachos - both were wrong. Both were missing toppings we had specifically ordered; yet both were absolutely slathered in refried beans we certainly hadn’t ordered (nor were we asked) - we both hate beans. It also meant after the 5minute drive home they were soggy and sloppy.

They had twice the amount of food than usual but we’d have much preferred $40 of quality food than $40 of refried beans and soggy corn chips.

Generally speaking the food is good, however I've been here several times and they've messed up my order a few too many times. Ordered a Fajita Vege taco salad for my partner last visit, was given a BBQ Jackfruit one. Happened to me on two other occasions months ago as well. I feel like staff may need retraining as service isn't fantastic.

I'm also not a fan of how the Mexicali portion is run in comparison to other Mexicali stores (where they make it in front of you more like Subway). I feel like this would solve a lot of the issues that I've had here, albeit I know that isn't an easy change to make. Either way I've kinda lost faith...
